The Brief!

Work required:

Overview
This assignment is to be planned and structured by the student, with negotiation and discussion with staff. It will reflect the direction of future professional aspirations, and show a breadth of abilities: versatility, competency, discernment, aesthetic appreciation and aptitude.

The Brief
The work presented for this module will be the Final Major Project .

During weeks 2 and 3 you will be asked to present your initial plans for the Final Major Project; what you intend to do, why you have chosen it and how you are going to achieve it. You will need to present relevant initial work of your own and supporting material. This will be the basis of your Negotiated Learning Plan and Assignment Brief, which will be developed in the first three weeks and submitted to staff on the 25th February 2011. The NLP is a flexible document and changes can be made if your work demands it. You will find this document extremely helpful when you come to write your final critical conclusion at the end of the assignment.

NLP Document

This is a document which you will develop with staff during the first three weeks
              It will be submitted on Monday 21 February 2011
              A conclusion will be added at the end of the project

To be submitted on Monday 14th February 2011 Group B : Wednesday 16th Group B
To be word processed using 12pt Ariel or Times New Roman
Name and Course to be placed at top of text
Proposal to be put in plastic sleeve

Learning Outcomes — Knowledge and Understanding ( Work required; This has been devised to enable you to achieve the learning outcomes for this module.


You will be able to produce a selection of edited final images that demonstrates skills and techniques using either analogue or digital outputs. (to exhibition standard)


To show ability in providing a Negotiated Learning Plan with supporting evidence of research journal, that indicates independent investigation of your proposed project


Provide evidence which demonstrates the ability to work as an individual, with attention to time management and consistent personal practice  Demonstrate high standards of gained knowledge,  skills and techniques which communicate ideas effectively, using a sophisticated range of processes, materials and equipment        

Learning Outcomes — Cognitive/Intellectual Skills (   Research a negotiated topic prior to development and production of images    Demonstrate an in-depth application of ideas generation directed towards visual language    Demonstrate a high level of investigation with a critical, intellectual and questioning nature to problem solving        

Learning Outcomes — Practical/Professional Skills (   Collate a body of research into a chosen topic in a logical and structured manner    Demonstrate the ability to work as an individual in managing and organising an assignment, while working in a highly motivated, organised and professional manner    Produce photographic images which reflect a range of processes, materials and techniques    Produce a final body of work to an appropriate standard, as a sophisticated response to visual investigation
